Card Sorting and Pivot Tables

This assignment explored UI research techniques through both closed and open card sorting methods. In the closed sort, participants categorized 17 associate degree programs from NTID, while the open sort involved organizing 20 different RIT clubs based on perceived similarity. The resulting data was analyzed using pivot tables and conditional formatting in Excel, offering valuable insights into user mental models and how people naturally group information. This approach highlights the role of card sorting in information architecture and improving user experience design.
